I've also been very happy with my Brother HL-2280DW. It does everything I
need very reliably and the toner is super cheap. I buy generic and refill
myself, and last time it was only 5 or 6 dollars for the refill.

They have full support for Linux, for both printing and scanning. I expect
it to last, but I've only had it a year or two so far, so I can't really
vouch for that. It has wireless, an ethernet port, and usb. It has a
duplexer for printing, but only a flatbed for scanning. With how seldom I
ever scan, I didn't care to spend extra for a document feeder or duplex
scanning.
