I haven't run across a VGA-only projector in a very long time. If you're working with clients dependent on older or second-hand gear (e.g., some nonprofit groups, local schools), VGA may be the best they'll have. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect to see it anywhere.

The only place I still see VGA used extensively is in the data center. Most rack-mount machines provide only VGA, and server-room crash carts tend to have monitors with VGA cables.
