Distributed systems have gone mainstream and are redefining the way we
think about building and deploying applications. The container
represents a modern abstraction for applications and provides the
necessary constraints for building robust and self-aware systems on top
of the core tenants of distributed computing.

In the future the virtual machine will disappear and a logical computer
will emerge that stretches across the datacenter and plugs into the
global network over high speed links. Some will say this future is more
than a decade away, but what if I told you it exists today and it's
source code was available on GitHub?

In this talk we will take a look at Kubernetes, the open source
container management platform, and how it's changing the way we think
about compute.

Kelsey Hightower is the Staff Developer Advocate at Google, Inc.
