Comcast has been having network issues the last day or so. They were down all over the country yesterday, and supposedly fixed the issue(s), but may still have lingering ones. http://downdetector.com/status/comcast-xfinity/map/
I usually just use the Speakeasy speed test: https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ That will show overall performance, but slow speeds can be because of any link in the chain. Comcast has their own speed test site, which, since it stays within their network, will hopefully give you a more reliable indication of your actual link speed. http://speedtest.xfinity.com/ If you seem to have normal link performance, but slow speeds with a specific site, you can try traceroute to get an idea of where in the sequence the slowdown is happening.
