My understanding is that the drive in the optical drive bay >does not have the same status as a second drive in a typical desktop >installation. It's way to late at night for me to try to be lucid, but I can offer some thoughts. To clone the VirtualBox from your desktop to the laptop, just install Virtualbox on the laptop, then copy the .vdi file from its config folder on the desktop to the VB config folder on the laptop. When you next launch VB on the laptop, there will be your virtual machine, exactly as it is on the desktop. Everything is in the .vdi file. As for the drive in the optical bay v. the SSD, there may be some issues with speed. I am unfamiliar with your Thinkpad, but my old T61 had a SATA-2 controller which Lenovo deliberately throttled for fear there would be a speed mismatch between drives connected to it and optional extra drives in the optical bay. Dumb. I would suggest sleuthing out what kind of controller runs the SSD v. what runs a drive in the optical bay. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
