I may have been warned "Here be dragons" or something to that effect. More importantly I don't see weird questions been asked. Though they frequently require advanced expertise to answer, I any average user encountering eventually. Does that make sense. But I've been challenged to ask a question. I'll rephrase an old question about attempting to use debootstrap or multistrap(in native mode). On 11/28/2014 Robert Citek pointed me to https://gist.github.com/rwcitek/ffe6590fa1bcd45d9be4. Couldn't understand it at the time but I've just reviewed some of the related posts. I'll restate the question as I would ask it with two additional years of Linux. I have a laptop with a wiped disk. I *BY EXPLICIT CHOICE* has *NO* networking available. I have complete sets of Squeeze and Jessie install DVDs. I can install either on /dev/sda1 with Grub2 as boot mechanism. Using either debootstrap or multistrap how do I install a bootable instance of Debian on /dev/sda2 ? If chroot is involved please point me towards a suitable tutorial - for some reason I do not find man page format grokkable (Apologies to R.A.Heinlein). _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
