Sure enough, I found /usr/share/ppd/Brother and within that directory I found MFC7820N.ppd. At first I was concerned that I wouldn't find the "new" ppd, but I noticed that the Modified date is yesterday, which was when I was playing with brother-lpr-drivers-laser brother-cups-wrapper-laser, so I figure that's the right one. Using that ppd, when I got to the "Set Default Options for Brother_MFC-7820N" page in CUPS I found options that weren't present with any of the other things I tried. The first thing I noticed was that Media Size was set to A4. I changed that to Letter. The rest I left alone. I printed a test page, which looked right. I had read someone was able to print a test page, but not ordinary documents, so I tried printing one of mine and it worked. Thanks for the pointers. -- Regards, Dick Steffens _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
