Tom, Nope. I've not seen a need to keep installation media when I switch to F/OSS software. This is perhaps the second or third time I've wanted data from an old file whose format cannot be read by installed applications. The others were old WordPerfect/Linux files from the mid-1990s. Every now and then I look at all contents in a subdirectory and clean out files that haven't been opened in a decade or more. If I've not needed them before it's highly unlikely that I'll need them in the future. This spreadsheet is the exception. Fortunately, all spreadsheets I've ever used since leaving the Microsoft world store data as plain text tagged with software-specific codes that are easily deleted. Yesterday's adventure yielded 511 blocks of highly useful information so all's good now.
