If you need that other operating system for something consider running 
it as a virtual machine.

I've been running Win 7 as a virtual machine using VirtualBox on Ubuntu 
14.04 for a few years and haven't had any trouble with it. I use a 
transcription playback program called GearPlayer, which handles audio 
better than the handful of Linux programs I have. For some reason it's 
clearer.
