I _think_ I found a working solution. Will confirm in a couple of days. Looking again at the button-mapping file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf) I saw what appear to be contradictions in the button actions, but this review caused me to try different buttons to emulate the middle button of a 3-button pointy thingie. My initial testing indicates that rather than simultaneously pressing the two small buttons (identified as B and C) to past text, pressing only the small right button (C) pastes the highlighted text ... once. As this is less awkward than finding and pressing the two small buttons at the same time if it proves to be the solution that'll be great. On a related note, I called Logitech tech support this morning about my older marble trackball (model T-RB22). I tried a few things suggested by the tech including connecting on different USB ports and a different host. Will call back tomorrow and see if they'll repair what failed (which I believe is the receiver, but might be the transmitter in the trackball housing). eBay has these really old units for sale starting at $188. I wonder if any have been sold. Rich _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
