I've asked quite a few emacs questions here and the answers have always been helpful. Recently I learned that emacs can do the same thing as the wc tool: report the number of lines, words, and characters in the buffer. So I offer the solution for those even less knowledgeable than I on emacs capabilities.
Highlight the document (or portion of interest) by setting the mark (ctrl-spacebar here), navigate to the end of the block to be reported, and press M-= (here the Meta key is the Esc key). Hope that someone, sometime finds this useful, too. Rich _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
