Reliability should be quite high, but you could always be the unlucky
one.  I.e., if your data is not backed up, your data doesn't exist.

I think the reliability of Crucial, Intel, and Samsung are all likely to
be quite good.  One thing I would suggest is to be sure the disk has the
latest version of firmware before you start moving or installing data on
it.  It's typically easier and safer to do a firmware update prior to
using the disk.
