I love thinkpads, they are my favorite box for doing radio coverage studies, I had a couple of months to give a batch of them a real road test when I did a coverage study for ConEd. We had a bunch of them and a Toshiba, the latter did not fare well on the streets of NYC, nor the rural roads of Westchester, Orange Rockland, and the whole northern set of NJ counties that formed the ConEd/Orange and Rockland service area. The Thinkpads came through with flying colors, they are really designed to deal with rough handling.
I have a 201X and a 301X. I also have a 200 that I want to rebuild the back light with LED.
