I have been using Ubuntu-Mate now for several years because
Compiz is quite easy to install with it. Indeed it was one of the
available desktops, but with 20.04 they made it available as a
download option.

By the way, the word Mate carries the accent on the first syllable not
the last. It should be Maate (e is a short a).

Back to Mate solutions, I am going to have to take a look at
Fedora Mate Compiz spin.
I really like my Compiz screens. I have a batch of kids that are
learning amateur radio, they really like the cube... (I am going
to get the hung on linux too)
