That's what I learned after more research. The terminology is brand new to me. I found a completely different set of less expensive and more appropriate choices when I searched the web for 'fiber optic routers.'
Why not just see if you can buy the Commscope Homevantage fiber gateway? However, it seems to be marketed to Service Providers. Maybe Zipley will sell it to you outright.
