The mac issue remains: I need to specify one (and I used hmac-sha2-512), entered my password (not the passphrase) and was in. I can live with this if I must, but it was not an issue before now.
Interesting. From the desktop (salmo) I can now ssh to the laptop (caddis) without specifying a mac; the other way requires one. The command `ssh -Q mac' returns more content on the server than on the client. In the client's /etc/ssh/ssh_config: MACs hmac-md5,hmac-sha1,[email protected] But, $ ssh -Q mac hmac-sha1 hmac-sha1-96 hmac-sha2-256 hmac-sha2-512 hmac-md5 hmac-md5-96 [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Should I manually add those in the bottom list to ssh_config? TIA, Rich
