Hello:

I used to use idevice_id binary file to open up a pair connection to my old Apple Iphone 6s, and eventually gain access to the photos.

The new Iphone 14 I have now is stymieing me in my attempts to use KDE Connect, despite this app being in the Apple Library (and downloaded and installed on my Iphone)

I ran a couple of troubleshooting commands:

owner@localhost:~/.config/kdeconnect> sudo netstat -tunelp | grep -i kdeconnect
[sudo] password for root:
tcp6       0      0 :::1716 :::*                    LISTEN      1000       7950619 23313/kdeconnectd udp6       0      0 :::1716 :::*                                1000       7950618 23313/kdeconnectd

(with KDE Connect running on the host linux system (OpenSuse Leap 15.5) of course)

owner@localhost:~/.config/kdeconnect> netcat -z -v 192.168.0.8 1714-1716
netcat: connect to 192.168.0.8 port 1714 (tcp) failed: Connection refused
netcat: connect to 192.168.0.8 port 1715 (tcp) failed: Connection refused
Connection to 192.168.0.8 1716 port [tcp/xmsg] succeeded!

Well yes, we're supposed to see that connection be accepted by the Apple Iphone and apparently it is being received by the Iphone.. but nothing ever happens and no device discovery takes place, even if I enter a manual IP address into the Apple KDE Connect App configuration. On both sides, no device detection ever took place. (and yes, I cycled phone power)

The Apple Iphone and Linux system are on a local area network.. 192.168.0.xxx  so I don't understand why the Iphone 14 is refusing to co-operate

Has anyone been able to get their Apple Iphone 14 talking to the KDE Connect app running on a Linux OS?

Randall
