Lots of mousing operations in Linux are inspired by windows or worse macOS. IMHO, lots of them work as expected - no harm to try them.
I am yet to hear first hand account of physical damage when trying to use windows mousing or shortcut. In the worst case, you'd make headlines as the first windows mousing victim. The Onion would sure build a monument to you.
