I've 3 laptops and and a desktop with various releases/flavors of Debian.
Which Debians do I wish to download.
One laptop is easy as it's 32 bit i386 (yes i386 Debian near EOL).
For one laptop lscpu reports architecture as "x86_64"
For one laptop and the desktop it reports "i686".
You probably are due to download some new (at least, to you) machines. ;-)
*ROFL* !!!!
I didn't need to be told that. Did it naturally *years* ago ;}!
Within sight I have:
a. four known operable machines"x86_64""x86_64"
1. the "x86_64" laptop has 64 bit Buster with yet few applications
2. the 2 "i686" machines with 32 bit Stretch to have same OS on all
3. the physically 32 bit laptop (minimal RAM) with Stretch
b. a presumed operational T43 labeled "IBM ThinkPad"
Out of site is a fixable laptop, but I lack physical tools to remedy.
I just booted a 32-bit lenovo laptop, a T42, running a 18.04 xubuntu,
so maybe I shouldn't be throwing even light-hearted stones. Seriously
though, used decent less-then-10 year old 64-bit machines are not
expensive.
The 32 bit laptop is destined to be my machine to travel to a foreign
system to take advantage of tools/data at local library. [very limited
data cap at home]
I want the other 3 machines to be running the same release level as long
as possible.
