probably not ideal for you but I use a gigantic keyring and just have all
my drives hooked to it. that way it's hard to lose an individual one.

I use a labelmaker and slap a label on any that I care what's on it.

so it's easy to unclip them and clip them back in (though this does run the
risk of dissociating the drive from its label)
