This afternoon I dug through my vast-heap-o-cables looking
for POE injectors, and realized that there were WAY TOO
MANY parallel IDE cables in that heap. None of my deployed
machines or drives are IDE/PATA. I have some archived PATA
drives, but I do not need more than one cable + spare and an
IDE to PCI card to access those drives ... someday, if ever.

Anyway, those excess cables might be useful for your hobby
project that needs 40 slow interconnects; if so, they are
yours. Let me know soon. Otherwise, copper recycling.

Friends don't let friends drive PATA.

P.S. After all my digging and cleanup, I learned that two
of my POE injectors are attached to a plywood board with
two ancient Linksys WRT54GS access points on it. That was
mounted in the attic of the house we moved from, 14 years
ago. Those access points are NOT "free to a GOOD home",
but I'll give them to you if I decide I DON'T like you. :-/
