A number of years ago I used NameCheap to register my domain, dicksteffens.com, and StableHost to host the website. It's been a long time since I've updated the site. I needed to do some stuff today and couldn't get in to cpanel. I contacted StableHost tech support, but they claim I'm hosted by NameCheap. The tech recommended that I try dicksteffens.com/cpanel. That got me to a place to log in, but none of the things I've used for passwords worked. So I clicked on the link to put in a new password. It accepted my "where was I born" answer and then wanted a code. I clicked on the "send me the code" or whatever it said. It never sent the code.

Is there some way to figure out where a website is hosted? I need to figure out where my site lives so I can make some changes. I'd just drop the current one and start over, but my email is tied to the domain, and is far more important than the site, so just starting over doesn't help. I don't understand how StableHost could think they don't have the site, and that NameCheap does. I've never gone through a process to switch them -- at least not intentionally.
