I used to mount external drives (including USB flash drives) on /mnt. Several years ago a more knowledgable than I am SysAdmin told me to use /media instead. As far as I've ever known the only difference between the two mount points is that the latter has two more characters to type.
Just out of curiosity, since the PLUG list is filled with an abundance of linux gurus, are there any meaningful diffences between the two? Regards, Rich
