The end goal is the structure of the file created and saved by SeaMonkey. Fine details of which are logically answered in a SeaMonkey forum.

From what I've read so far, it is not necessarily a byte-for-byte image of the stream as sent by the server.

Of particular interest at the moment is how the "time of day" is represented. SeaMonkey expends some effort to *DISPLAY* it on a computer screen as time in the _recipient's_ time zone.

I've attempted to examine messages as stored on my computer.
I got confuzzed.
Thought if I knew more about incoming I might grok the result.
