I have a vague recollection from years ago that ~/.ssh/known_hosts and/or authorized_keys may be out of date. Since laptop -> desktop connects perhaps the desktop's files need updating. Isn't that something like (from laptop): scp id_ed25519.pub salmo:.ssh/authorized_keys? Rich
