comes up with the login screen for me. At the command line of a convenient windows box this is the IP I get: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.26200.8875] (c) Microsoft Corporation. Ted, It's been so long since I've configured a new host that I've forgotten where the DNS IP addresses are stored. One I use is Google's (if I correctly recall it's 8.8.8.8.) > Typically these are run by ISPs and only accept queries from > downstream customers. What puzzles me are 1. there's only the one web site I regularly visit. and 2. it stopped working last Thursday. I'll spend time today continuing to configure my laptop running Slackware-15.0. Rich
