-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I was testing my embedded networking board the other day, and got the thing to ping my linux machine. I also programmed it to respond to any ICMP echo request packets it might receive, and tried to test that. So I pinged the networking board from my Linux box. Odd thing was, my Linux box did not respond to the last ICMP echo request that my board sent it. I was watching the whole thing happen on Ethereal and am perplexed. Ethereal recorded that last ICMP echo request my board sent, but I saw no answer to that request. If Linux starts sending pings, does that give it the right to stop responding to pings? That doesn't sound right somehow. - -- Rafael R.
