since this is a linux list, i think the K6-2 will be a
good value for a linux system, since most tasks don't
use the floating-point unit. but I think investing in
a K6-2 system (and Super Socket 7 board) is dead-end
technology; why not go for a Celeron 566
(overclockable to 850 MHz!) and use an i815 board or
VIA 694X so you can upgrade it later to a Pentium
"!!!" ?

p.s. if you can wait, wait for the duron...it's
cheaper and faster although the motherboard is not 8(
