Dennis,
     Try to make use of your syslogd... In ur pslave.conf, try to edit and
point :

conf.syslog     logger.someisp.com or IP or leave it blank to point it locally.
conf.facility   6

      and then add to your syslogd.conf on your logger.someisp.com or
wherever you pointed it like this :

local6.*                                          /var/log/portslave.log

      Then restart your syslogd.
