Not true. If you're using somthing aside from pthreads, your program is, ipso facto, 
not POSIX compliant. The other mt library you might possibly want to consider is 
IRIX's (and also Solaris'?) sproc.

The pthreads interface IS a posix standard (POSIX 1003.1c)

Multithreading code (using pthreads or otherwise) really isn't that complicated if 
you're a reasonably good C hacker. If you ain't, then no library will do your work for 
you.
