You asked for an idea, which is great, because I haven't tried actually
making an auto-responder. Your standard MDA (Mail Delivery Agent) should
be able to do the trick. The manpages of Procmail and Maildrop should have
ample documentation on how to go about working out an auto-responder. I've
not worked on Procmail for quite some time, but I am positive that
Maildrop has docs on how to do this. :)
