are you using any of the following:
1. scsi hard disks
2. reiserfs
3. any advanced ide chipset that supports UDMA
for 1 and 2, you need to run mkinitrd, there's a page in mandrake support which
walks you through it.
for 3, you're out of luck \8( The 2.2.16 kernel was shipped with an unstable
version of andre hedrick's IDE UDMA66 patches. It won't boot on this.. most
especially VIA.
what's the brand of your board?
Anyway, grab kernel-2.2.17-21mdk from the 7.2 beta tree. Its pretty stable
(much more stable than 2.2.16mdk, and see if it suites your hardware.
