Don't get hurt with the comparison guys.
FYI, Multi-booting on the same hardware gave me
those impressions with speed.
It's noticeable, really.
(I'm being dispassionate about this evaluation.)

>From Fastest to Slowest with my "feeling..."
#1 - FreeBSD 4.2
#2 - RedHat 7.0
#3 - Mandrake 7.2

Desktop convenience:
#1 - Mandrake 7.2
#2 - RedHat 7.0
#3 - FreeBSD 4.2

I'm basing my review on my own use.
15 production Linux Desktops/Servers
either Mandrake or RedHat.
Linux is Reliable to a point, every distro has
its own set of quirks.

I'm testing FreeBSD cuz I'm looking for a future
platform that can run 100,000 user web-mail traffic.

Any tips?
