I have a PCPartner Via KT133 which has AC97 also. I can't even get the damn thing
to work on windows :<. Onboard devices suck...Hmm...I need to find that old soundcard
which could have insects living on it already....
Btw, http://www.alsa-project.org may have the answer to ur problems.
