try software raid (mirroring / raid1) . I can't help you much with the
details (i haven't done it yet) although you could refer to the
Software-RAID-HOWTO .
there is a slight performance hit also due to the fact that it have to
perform disk functions (like write) on two disks . And the raid functions
are done by software so it eats up (albeit little) CPU time.
