Ian, Cool ka lang...no one is advocating using tar.gz. In fact, it all started to answer someone's question on why some of us like tar.gz instead of RPMs. No one had put up a signature saying that tar.gz is the "only true way to use Linux". I believe it is all a matter of choice... some like Debian, some like RedHat, some like Mandrake, some like Slackware, some like making their own distributions.....to each his own. After all, it is the OPEN SOURCE Movement.
