Correct me if I'm wrong, but you want the closest Linux distro to BSD.
Then the answer is Slackware; it uses the BSD-style rc.d scripts and
most of the binaries are located in usual BSD places.
I have a copy of the Slackware 7.1 CD and pre-7.2 version (you just
need to upgrade the kernel and Bind). I can lend them to you, just
contact me via private email.
