I personally use CVS to manage my websites. You might want to take a
look
at http://cvsbook.red-bean.com and the official CVS homepage at
http://www.cvshome.org
My actual implementation is based on Philip Greenspun's Using CVS for
Web Development. Really a good solution to my line of work. It's at
http://www.arsdigita.com/asj/cvs Plus you can find some more link at
the bottom of the abovementioned page.
Hope that helps. Welcome to the world of Version Control, where you
don't
want to leave once you enter.
