#_ To all concern,
#_
#_ I've been using Slackware 7.0 for 5 days now. And after 5 days of
#_ frustrations, hair pulling and "almost give-up" conviction. I'd
#_ finally and painfully, getting used to it. Now one "moron GEEK" Linux
#_ user advice me to shift to another Linux flavor. He told me that
#_ since I am just a novice Linux user. I have NO RIGHT to use
#_ Slackware. Because Slackware is reserved for GEEKS only!!! Well at
I disagree!! The very first linux I ever saw was Slackware 3.5; I bought a
4CD set from DataBlitz - it came with excelent install docs. Slackware is a
very good linux to learn on, you do things "by hand" first - then you go
automatic. You have to know algebra before you can do integral calculus ;->.
See, when I was a linux moron I learned on slackware. Now that I'm only an
idiot I use Mandrake. ;->
#_ first I am tempted to shift to another flavor. But then I realized my
#_ 5 days of agony learning it, will go to trash. So please ladies and
#_ gentlemen on this board. Ligthen me up and tell me honestly, what do
#_ you all think of my chose flavor.
Whatever you learn will never go to trash. Stick with it for a while then
try other flavors and decide what you like best. I tried red hat, turbo
linux, caldera open linux, suse, until I finally tried mandrake and that's
what I like best.
HTH.
