A project current referred to under PICS as the National Internet Literacy Campaign is currently in the process of reviewing some options and one of these is the operating system. Some folks have suggested that the project adopts Linux as the project's standard OS because of the huge savings it will generate. The project is nationwide in scope and we need to know the extent of linux support across the country. What is the extent of linux users and support in your area? Are there people who are willing to volunteer their time and services to support this type of project? I'd appreciate your feedback. Please include your location when you send your information.
