the trouble with chuck and his pals is that they implemented their own
session handling when php has a perfectly serviceable one. so they
basically reinvented a wheel, and it turned out to be square.
if imp can use postgresql instead (assuming it uses the database
independent api in phplib) then that will fix it: pg has much better
concurrency than mysql (but: from my recent pg experiences, it still falls
well short of oracle, no matter what great bridge sez..)
