#_ I've never bothered checking before but just recently, I took notice and was
#_ wondering, how do I know what partition a particular directory has been
#_ mounted in (if that's the correct term)?
#_
#_ ie.
#_
#_ Filesystem Mounted on
#_ /dev/sda5 /
#_ /dev/sda7 /home
#_ /dev/sda6 /usr
#_ /dev/sda8 /var
#_
#_ In which partition are the directories such as /sbin, /etc, /lib, /opt, /tmp
#_ located?
#_

#_ Take care and God bless.

I think that's in /etc/fstab.

Also, you can do a "df -h"

hth.
