i'm having some difficulties trying to resolve this issue. I hope someone could
enlighten me on this.
when i made a traceroute from nitrous.digex.net and from visualroute.datametrics.com
to my box (let's use www.mydomain.net for the illustration), i should expect that the
last hop /final destination will be this box referring also to an IP Address within my
network and to which i have assigned. But as soon as the trace is finished, the last
IP turned out to be an IP from the IP block we've got from our first provider
(provider1).
But when i did a trace for the address mydomain.net (without the www.), and for other
hosts with the top level mydomain.net, the results are okey. It really points out to
my current IP Address Block from my current provider (provider2).
But when i made a lookup to www.mydomain.net, it really points to the IP that i have
right now. (IP block from provider2, my current provider).
What keeps on puzzling me is that lookup to the domain www.mydomain.net and
mydomain.net is okey. But tracing the route to www.mydomain.net points to the previous
name server (provider1) and mydomain.net points to my current name server.
whew....
