Again, before things run amok on the newbie list, we all know we have our preferences for distribution. It is a personal choice, bottomline. Instead of berating the other distributions in favor of your personal favorite, let's remember that before the newbie can even determine what distribution she prefers, she should at least be exposed to -one- first. Then maybe other distributions later. I think that the newbie list should be declared a neutral zone, where we all refrain from starting religious wars on what is better or worse. The whole point of the newbie list is to help the newcomer to Linux learn about LINUX and the variety of choices she is faced with. I'd be more vocal about my own preferences, but one of the reasons why Linux becomes attractive to a lot of us is precisely because we can choose. Give the newbie a chance to learn a bit. Get him comfortable with the things that make us love this environment we've adopted and help him find out his own preferences. In the end, she will decide which distribution she prefers after having been given the opportunity to choose. -- eric pareja ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) ~-=[O]=-~ Here, have a clue. Get the picture.
