The Information Technology Law Program of the Institute of 
International Legal Studies (IILS) of the University of the 
Philippines (UP) Law Center, the research and extension arm of the UP 
Law Complex invites you to a roundtable discussion 
entitled "Intellectual Property in Information Technology: Issues and 
Concerns."

The discussion will be held on April 18, 2001 at the 2nd Floor 
Conference Room of the UP Law Center, Bocobo Hall, UP Diliman.  

Topics include enforcement issues, the Intellectual Property Code in 
relation to international practice, the international domain system 
and intellectual property, the Anti-Piracy Provision of the E-
Commerce Act in relation to international developments, software 
piracy in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia, and the Free 
Software and Open Source Movements and their significance to the 
Philippines.

Confirmed speakers include IPO Dir. Gen. Emma Francisco, UP Senior 
Lecturer Susan Villanueva, UP Professorial Lecturer Vicente Amador 
and BSA Legal Counsel Christopher Lim.

Registration for regular participants is P200. The amount will cover 
the participant's snacks, lunch and handouts. Admission is free to 
students and employees of the University of the Philippines.
