I highly recommend Horde IMP <http://www.horde.org/imp/>, TWIG
<http://twig.screwdriver.net/>, or SquirrelMail
<http://www.squirrelmail.org/>.

The faculy and personnel web e-mail in UP Manila is stored in IMAP servers
and accessed over the web using Horde IMP. IMP is pretty stable and the
development team is active. It takes mail from an IMAP server, stores
personal address books and preferences on a variety of storage media,
including but not limited to SQL servers. It is written in PHP, hence, a
web server with PHP is needed, like Apache with the PHP modules.

Twig has a lot of other stuff in it as is like schedules and group stuff.
I checked this out before and while I like it I didn't continue using it
so I don't know much about its current state.

SquirrelMail is interesting because it's lite. Check it out if it'll do
for you. :-)
