About anti-virus solutions. Would it be worthwhile to provide a user based
scanner under linux? For the enterprise, people on the list use email
scanners for most of the brunt work.
This is probably the last area of the "old" PC industry that Linux has no
free implementations of. I wonder if it is just because of the amount of
work needed to maintain the data files. I thought that Linux users would
have no need for A/V solutions.

Does anyone know of any other fields Linux has no free programs for?

Just as an aside - during the last EB, we mentioned a couple of particular
programs like norton's speedisk - there's a guy on the freedos list who's
actively developing a free version called defrag.
No, it's not just a clone of MS's crippled copy. He based it on Norton's
last dos version of speedisk.

Former ATARI and AMSTRAD users, you might want to trudge down memory lane.
This guy is also maintaining a freeGEM website at
http://www.owenrudge.co.uk/GEM/

Anyone want to compare winblows 101? It's on the same page. Weighing in at
726KB!

= Linux *is* stable. It runs Windows and DOS without a single shutdown.
