i already use NAI linux virus scanner (at 4.1.4 right now) to scan the
samba share of our little dorm server. i download the "free" virus
definition updates from the nai.com website. i am happy with my solution
so far. and btw, NAI uvscan is FAST!!! it scanned my whole file system in
less than a few seconds!!!

workstations are cheaper if you have a few workstations. but, when you are
talking about thousands of workstations they add up to a big amount.
buying a linux-client license for NAI uvscan is dirt cheap (NAI treats it
as one-client license). but, we use it to scan everyones files every
o'clock. therefore, if dormer A wants his files scanned he uploads it to
the share and waits for the o'clock to hit. the file is cleaned if a virus
is detected and cleanable. it is archived if it is not cleanable.

however, i suspended the scanning because the demo of uvscan expired.
hehehe. need to buy it na.
