I installed that bad Windows ME on my computer (and later Windows 98). With all the
applications needed I decided to have a dual boot my system with RedHat Linux 6.1.
First, I defragmented my had disk. Then run fips20.
As a result the program failed for the fourth time with both operating systems. By
the way, I put it on the same drive that I am partitioning. The message is that, I
got a mirror or index file at the end of my file system (which I am not aware I got).
I used this attrib command to find those files if any and delete them. To my dismay,
there were none.
I am badly in need to install this operating system now so that I could enjoy once
more its stability that I never experience in that other operating system I had.
Kindly give comments and suggestions to what actions and remedies I should take to
have a safe transition to Linux again.
TIA
Erwin
PS... I got no floppy drive to put files on them. I only got a dual HDD that can
still be accessed when still in Dirty Operating System mode.
