whoa,

we (plug) really bit that guy's head off that time.
he unsubscribed himself in a hurry.
:)

some notes:

1. all public mailing lists hosted by qlinux are configured not to accept
postings from non-members. the spam which we received in the past are from
people who subscribed themselves before posting their wares (maybe this should
go into a faq somewhere).

2. to avoid this all together, would you guys want the list admins to filter
each and every posting before allowing them to be sent to the list members?
that would mean MAJOR work for the admins, maybe we'd need more moderators to
wade through the plug emails each day. on the other hand, some of you guys
might miss the fun in bashing the offenders :) and afaik, plug has always been
unmoderated since it was hosted by la salle.

3. you guys have been considerably kind in reminding the offenders, so i won't
remind you to be gentle to differently inclined people who wander into plug's
territory. :)

... who knows, maybe we can make converts out of them.

too many smileys,
-eric
